We understood everything

As infants

We lived only in the present
And we were happy

As children
We had so many friends,
We knew them just by their names
And we were happy

As teenagers
We didn't understand religion
Cast or color or clothes
And we were happy

And then we became adults,
We understood everything
And we are not happy!
